Skateboarder Magazine

Skateboarder. GrindMedia. http://www.skateboardermag.com/.

Plot Summary

Skateboarder was the first ever published magazine strictly about skateboarding.  In each edition, the newest tricks are shown and tips are given to completing each one.  The pros, of celebrities of the skating world, are interviewed and featured in the magazine regularly.  On their website, videos and blogs are featured daily along with a online shop where readers can purchase skate stuff.  There are even announcements of skating related parties or events that are coming up.  A great resource for anyone into skateboarding.

Critical Evaluation

Knowing nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, about skateboarding, I think this is a good magazine.  It seems to have a lot of good information that would be useful to skaters.  The website, especially, seems a great compliment to the print magazine.  I think readers will like the videos and screen shots of skaters mid-trick the most.

Reader’s Annotation

Come learn some new tricks and read about professional skateboarders.

Book Talking Ideas

If anyone is at all interested in skateboarding, this is the magazine for them and it shouldn't be hard to sell.  If they are not into skateboarding, then I would make a case for them learning a few moves.  I, personally, can't even ride a skateboard, let alone do any tricks on one, so teenagers seem a good audience for this, as they are more willing to try new things.

Challenge Issues

I don't foresee any challenges with this magazine.

Why Include This Title?

This seemed like a good magazine that might cater towards the teenage boy crowd and it seemed to encompass all aspects of skateboarding.
